Summer Vacation Scholarships
Summer vacation scholarships are offered by:
- Anglo-Australian Observatory, Sydney
10-12 week scholarships available over from December 2009 to February 2010, including a $604/week stipend plus some rental and travel support. Applications close 31 August 2009. For more information, click here.
- Australian Gemini Undergraduate Scholarships, Chile
Students will spend 10 weeks in the period December 2009 to February 2010 based in La Serena, Chile carrying out a research project under the supervision of Gemini South researchers. Applicants must be enrolled at an Australian university. Airfare, medical insurance and ~AU$600/week stipend included. Applications close 31 August 2009. For more information, click here.
- RSAA, Mt Stromlo & Siding Springs
Eight-twelve week scholarships available over the 2009/2010 summer, including accommodation, travel costs and $135/week stipend. Applications close 31 August 2009. For more information, click here.
- CSIRO/ATNF, Sydney, Parkes & Narrabri
Ten week scholarships available from December 2009 to February 2010, includes a $550/week stipend. Applications close 30 August 2009. For more information, click here.
- Macquarie University, Sydney
Four summer vacation scholarships are available during Jan-Feb 2010 for 6-7 weeks. A tax-free stipend of $475/week accompanies the scholarship and travel costs are supported. Applications close 3 October 2009. For more details, click here.
- University of New South Wales
Six week exoplanetary science vacation scholarships from December 2009 to February 2010, includes a $500/week tax free stipend. Applications close 30 September 2009. For more information, click here.

Six week scholarships from December 2009 to February 2010, includes a $500/week tax free stipend. Applications close 18 September 2009. For more information, click here.
- Swinburne University, Melbourne
Swinburne University's Centre for Astrophysics & Supercomputing (CAS) accepts applications for Vacation Scholarships at any time throughout the year. For scholarships in the period December 2009 to February 2010, we ask for applications to be submitted by the 30th September 2009. Scholarships last 6 to 10 weeks and attract a tax-free stipend of $500/week plus return domestic travel costs to Melbourne. For further information, click here.
